We also have two specials running in March. The Foreskin Stretcher to cure a tight foreskin and foreskin cleansing soap and foreskin stretching cream are all on special.
Thank you so much for sharing this touching story. I will save this to show to any sons I may have in the future (who will be left intact). How lovely to see a thoughtful understanding father raising a thoughtful understanding son. An excellent job!
This is one of the best, critically and unbiased refutation of the belief that male circumcision is going to stop the HIV epidemic. It also has all (130) references for the conclusion, and other references on the validity of the much touted benefits of male circumcision as a preventive tool.
I just found this site, and it is a real eye-opener! I'm a paediatrician, so I have always recommended against circumcision on medical grounds - but it makes a real difference to hear the personal horror stories of men who have suffered through various associated difficulties and complications. Kudos to you for telling this story in public - it deserves to be known!
I have felt grief over my circumcision for much of my life, since I reached puberty and understood what I lost when I was not even hours old. I would give anything to be whole.
I wanted to thank you for your intense and thoughtful words. They had a complex effect on me. As you warned, they did hurt tremendously. Listening to you read this essay is something I'll never forget. It did not change my mind, as there is no where it can change to, but enhanced my sadness. I am comforted by the fact that you will have a similar effect on others, and as a result more children can be spared this horrific, barbaric practice.
Physical restoration is not the only kind of way that a man can regain sensations and experience which are lost to circumcision. When I learned about the differences in the way that intact and circumcised men make love, I changed the way that I stimulated myself and the way that I moved during sex. The change took time, but eventually I re-trained myself to behave a more natural way, which has helped my partners tremendously, and has yielded sex which is indescribably better, closer, and more intense than before I understood the difference behavior between natural and circumcised.
Now I am doing what I can to convince my skin to grow. I hope that one day, in a future when circumcision is an anachronism and all boys are left whole, I'll be able to tell the story of how I used my own hands and mind to rebuild a part of myself that my society took.
An excellent list of studies showing the absurdity of routine infant circumcision. Although the number of articles may be overwhelming, it supplies a lot of ammunition for discussion and support of our position. Thank you for the link.
"Its blasphemous...to destroy Gods perfect Image. We were made in His Divine Image, and you are no one to question Him."
In your ignorance, you say for no one to question God, however, God says we are to question! Even if that were not the case, you still fail-because who the hell are you to be so arrogant and presumptious as to know what God's thinking is? We were created in His image. Did you fail to read the book of Exodus where circumcision is a sign of the covenant between God and man? Next time you want to spout religion, do your homework.
Having said that, let me say this: Jesus Christ's death did away with the old covenant with man, and through His death was made the new covenant with man. Jesus paid the price with His blood. Those who wish to circumcise their sons in the name of religion are free to do so-but it is not required today. It is the duty of every parent to make decisions, sometimes hard ones, for the child who clearly cannot even have an opinion. In protecting their child, in their eyes and most of the eyes of the world, by having the child circumcised, the parent is doing right. Especially if the child's doctor says it is for health reasons that there is a need for circumcision.
Child abuse this is not. I would be willing to bet that the people who treat child abuse victims are outraged at this comment. When done in infancy, such as my son having it done the second day of his life, it poses no pain for the child. My son literally slept through it. Studies have been done to show this. I was a victim of child abuse and the scars I have are way worse than any scar from circumcision. In my opinion, and yes this is opinion, anyone who has a problem with a decision their parent made when they were too young to know the difference has way too much interest in their penis. Maybe this interest is a form of scar from the person who was sexually abused as a child. In my reality, no one sits around discussing their penises. Even my gay friends do not sit discussing it.
I'll leave you with just one parting shot-you sound like a teenager who cannot control himself. By your words I see an impetuous child... certainly no MAN in maturity level. Stop your whining and snivelling. There is a reason there are barely any people in your group.
I'm honored to be included in this list! I've been debating the issue (I'm sad that there's anything to debate) with a friend of mine who is a pediatrician...hoping she'll come around.
Give liberty to women by giving liberty Too men. They cut off way too much Foreskin and people are shy to talk about it. The Real Cure is the Condom. Or a little soapy water fixes all these problems.
What they don’t tell you about circumcision: There is a service called, “IntactCare.org” Education about intact care is so important and would save so much pain. Foreskin removal is an almost guarantee that the males won’t give females diseases and will give males erectile dysfunction. Over 100 babies per year die of foreskin removal. Why is Orgasm wrong? Are you just a yes person for the Catholic Church; that allows you to live profitably like a good little sheep? Foreskin mutilation people are two embarrassed or uneducated to talk about something that is important in satisfying there partner. On the web site it says. ‘That without foreskin women loose 80% of the experience.” So a doctor will come in and say he will do a little procedure and the Mom will say it’s okay and a few minutes later it will be done, like a thief in the night. That they leave a 3” wide scare that won’t allow you to masturbate properly, also won’t quit during times that you don’t want it, during your puberty years. Dr. Dean Odell said, ‘It’s wrong.’ Proper discussion wouldn’t hurt anyone and maybe better resolutions would be done. I guess the old establishment is always right. Or gives a lot to the 1st. born or takes away the 1st. born, so it is written or so it is said? I’ve always thought they removed too much skin and people would always laugh, when you question what this is about. Now that I see sometimes; how unkind and stupid people are, I guess they didn’t hear the word rude in the bible, I suppose this is a spiritual gift many people get except it really is bondage. The invention of the condom protection did two things 1.) Keeps people from having babies 2.)Circumcision is an ancient rite but, it’s wrong>A ritual worth stopping. It decreases the spread of disease. Foreskin is a very useful and valuable part of the body part that most Adult men do not want to give up. Why don’t you look up the demographics? Please stop this unethical unnecessary procedure. WWW.intactAmerica.org or look up youtube=circumcision-Assault on Male 3-parts, also www.crispe.org.
If your frenulum tears, the first thing to do is keep it clean and let it heal. Rinse the wound with clean water and avoid playing with it. Then you must ask yourself how you tore your frenulum.
If you are intact and your frenulum is short, you may have frenulum breve. There are simple ways to correct frenulum breve that do not involve circumcision.
If your frenulum is not too short, did you tear it from having rough sex? The end of the penis is mucous membrane, which is much thinner than the skin on the shaft. An example of rough sex is dry masturbation for a circumcised man. Dry masturbation can unduly stress that thin tissue and cause abrasions or even tears. If rough sex is the cause, you must decide if it is worth it.
If you are restoring your foreskin and your frenulum remnant tore, then you need to change how you are tugging. If you are using a device, you may need a frenulum notch. For example, the DTR and TLC-X pusher plates can be notched to provide clearance for your frenulum remnant. Contact your restoring device vendor for more information.
If you continue to tear your frenulum, I suggest seeing a doctor (probably a urologist would be best).
Tally, we are so endebted to you for this outstanding site, that I don't know how to express my gratitude. Without all the time, effort, and ingenuity which you put into the RestoringForeskin website, men like me would never have the opportunity to even know that restoring is possible. Then, there is the personality improvement which comes with the physical improvement, and the influence you have on intactivism. Please, accept my warmest wishes for a healthful and successful New Year.
tally....HELP! i cant get on the site...(rest.fs.org) i was on briefly yesterday ..& should have bookmarked..please email me when its corrected..ive been a member for years...thanks "the artist"
RestoringForeskin.org moved to a new web server Sunday. As part of that move we had to change the DNS. Somehow the DNS got corrupted and many people see a parking page that has links to dating and porn sites. We hope to have the problem resolved soon.
What happened to the restoringforeskin.org site? Everytime I try to access it, I'm taken to a porn site. Any info you have about the site would be appreciated. It's such a great site, I hate to think it's gone.
If your frenulum is too short, you may have frenulum breve. A short frenulum can be painful when the foreskin retracts. Does your glans pull down when you try to retract your foreskin? If so, I suggest seeing a urologist.
The typical treatment for frenulum breve is to cut the frenulum so that it does not pull on your glans. This is a tissue and nerve sparing operation. Circumcision is never warranted for frenulum breve.
I was told in pre-adolescence that I had been circumcised as an infant. My penis looked almost like most other boys, but there was a lot of loose skin gathered behind the corona. I had seen three or four intact boys since I was five. When I was 22 I decided that since skin can stretch, and that mine would cover my entire glans if I held it in place, I started taping it every night when I went to bed and let the erections do the stretch work. It wasn't long until it would remain partially covered during the day. Now, 52 years later, my foreskin covers completely most of the time except wnen I have an erection. Even then, it rarely retracts completely, The difference is that I had a frenoplasty--surgical detachment or removal of the frenum. This did not cause removal of my preputial sphincter, which neatly closes the opening of the foreskin. but not tightly enough to cause a problem.
it is well known that the drying or keratinization of the glans begins to be reversed as soon as there is significant coverage. It can't replace all the lost nerve endings in the discarded foreskin (in my case only the frenum) but if there is any of the ridged skin left, that becomes exquisitely sensitive to very light touch when the foreskin is NOT retracted, much like the male nipples, another erogenous zone of which many women seem unaware. As a gay man who came out at 43, I have had a history of triple orgasms with a majority of the intact men I have exrerienced, but with only one circumcised man, I had five with him, but he had an extraordinary amount and quality of sexual energy. My experiences led me to listen for European accents in my cruising years.
Here is something about AIDS prevention. Some doctors claim circumcision reduces AIDS transmission. This may be true in Africa, but when one compares the U,S., where the rates of both circumcision and AIDS are high, with all the countries of Europe, where both rates are much lower, it would seem that in an industrialized country, circumcision increases the transmission of AIDS. All the possible complications of circumcision, which existed long before AIDS and wheh so well documented in the British medical journal Lancet, gave me the will to resist letting my two sons be circumcised in the 60s.
The ridged band and the frenular delta are excised by circumcision and cannot be restored. But a lot of the damage done by circumcision can be undone, like the keratinization of the glans and inner foreskin remnant. Also, the gliding action can be restored, which adds a whole new dimension of sensations to sex, whether solo or with a partner(s). Even though I can never have my natural foreskin back, I can restore some of what I lost.
Unfortunately, when one is circumcised the part of the foreskin that they cut off has alot of sensory endings in it & when you restore. it may help cover the glans but you still don't have the original foreskin with all of its stretch receptors etc.. Fortunately I still have mine.. I do commend your efforts though . It is nice to have more skin .
The whole article brought tears to my eyes. But, when I kept reading and scrolling then got to the picture of the pierced ears... I wanted to vomit. I did it o my daughter. I hate myself for it. I am now hoping to spread the word.
I am right there with the #3 commentor and patiently waiting for my husband to come around. I explained to him how the hardened glans (head) scrapes my vaginal walls and how difficult penetration is and that it could be better with restoration. I explained that having a protective covering would restore feeling in the glans, restore moisture and restore the gliding, massaging functions that were lost due to his circumcision. He is an incredible lover (the best!!!) and it is sad that both he and I could have more joy from sex. It is sometimes uncomfortable and distracting.
As a woman, my foreskin is fun; it glides around during sex and makes the "getting" there more enjoyable. I'd imagine that male foreskin is fun as well and you confirm from your experiences and the experiences of many other women who prefer an intact partner 9 to 10 (O'hara and O'hara). We are so thankful of learning about the functions of the foreskin and the many sexual benefits of an intact penis because our son was saved from this sexual oppressing tradition. Thank you again, awareness is key. It is not about making a circumcised man feel bad; it was not his choice and his parents aren't bad parents. They were just misinformed. Now it IS time to MOVE FORWARD and break this cycle of genital cutting.
When I wrote this post I was not aware that you had made the book available on-line. The information you have in your book and on the Sex as Nature Intended It website is invaluable.
Thank you for writing your book and thank you for making it freely available to all.
