Another boy dies shortly after his circumcision: Jamaal, RIP
The big news this week is the baby boy that died after being circumcised.
Two years old. Dead. Because his parents wanted to have part of his penis cut off. Circumcision sux! In this case, circumcision kills!
A baby boy, who was about to celebrate his second birthday, was circumcised on Tuesday and died shortly after his circumcision surgery. A parent's worst fear is that something will happen to their child. In this case, the parents decided on elective surgery to remove part of their young son's penis, commonly known by the euphism of circumcision. The healthy boy had his foreskin removed in a hospital. If his parents had let the boy remain whole with his penis intact, he would not have died from his circumcision.
The baby boy's circumcision death has received wide attention in the press. Although tragic, hopefully the boy's death will educate parents on the risks and complications of infant circumcision. Unfortunately, many parents wrongfully believe circumcision is just a snip and that it removes only a small flap of skin. Circumcision removes a substantial part of the penis. Circumcision removes sensitive, erogenous tissue that intact men rarely ever consider removing.
Mens News Daily: Baby Dies After After Elective Nose Job
The attention grabbing headline is misleading, but not really. The baby died after part of his penis was removed by circumcision. It is not misleading because infant circumcision makes as much sense as doing a nose job on a baby. Neither surgery serves any medical purpose. In both cases, the baby is healthy and will remain healthy absent any surgery.

Traverse City Record-Eagle: Male circumcision is social, not medical
Routine infant circumcision is an outdated procedure that many people are misinformed about. It violates the child's right to bodily integrity, and greater attention is needed to discourage it.
California Catholic Daily: Catholics Against Circumcision
The San Francisco proposed ballot measure to ban circumcision is reported by the California Catholic Daily. Although the article is neutral, the author does not address the Catholic teachings against circumcision. Many commentors to the article appear to be uneducated about circumcision and the teachings of the New Testament against circumcision. The Catholic Church needs to do a better job of teaching Catholics about the church's position.
Babble: Pregnancy: Why I’m Not Circumcising This Baby … Boy or Girl
A mother questions why male infant circumcision is acceptable, but not female circumcision. She provides many good reasons to leave all children intact and whole. Circumcision, or genital cutting, is unnecessary.
Lizard Dick: Hi, So I guess I’m doing this thing – TLC Tugger
A circumcised man tells about deciding to restore his foreskin to undo the damage of his circumcision. He says that sex is not bad, but he believes that it could be better. He is correct about that. From my experience, I have a lot more sexual pleasure from my restored foreskin than when I was circumcised. Also, my wife loves my new foreskin. We do not need to use lube like we used to, and she never gets sore from sex. A win-win for both of us.

The Heterodox: Can you spare some Skin, Man?
An essay on the unethical and inexpiable nature of infant circumcision. Although written with big words with difficult sentence structure, the essay makes the point that infant circumcision needs to stop because it is a violation of the bodily autonomy of the child. Parents need to leave their son's genitalia alone.

Babies, Boobs, & Blasphemy: AAP To Change Policy Statement?
The American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) speaks about childhood trauma and its negative effects on children's development on its Facebook page. But, the AAP is now removing comments pointing out that the AAP is hypocritical when it comes to paying lip service to avoiding childhood trauma. The AAP still practices infant circumcision, which has been found to be traumatic to infants, particularly when the surgery is done without anesthesia.
Dr Momma Peaceful Parenting: HIV/AIDS Rates Continue to Climb in Africa
A new report by PANOS Eastern Africa has shown that new HIV/Aids messages meant to reduce the prevalence of the disease are instead facilitating its spread as they have created false impressions, especially with regard to multiple concurrent partnerships and male circumcision. The report shows that a majority of the population wrongfully believe that male circumcision gives a complete protection to HIV/AIDS.

Weekend Observer: ‘Soka uncobe’ campaign questioned
The male circumcision campaign in Africa is backfiring. Many in Africa now believe that a circumcised man cannot get HIV and AIDS. Unfortunately, circumcision has not protected men in the United States, where the HIV and AIDS epidemic occurred among a population predominently circumcised. Condoms and safer sex protect against HIV. Male circumcision gives false security to men.
Male Circumcision and HIV: UGANDA: New HIV/Aids Messages [re male circumcision] Worsening HIV Situation
David Wilton notes that objective minds had predicted that the male circumcision campaign in Africa would send the wrong message and have an opposite effect. The circumcision advocates claimed male circumcision would reduce the number of HIV infections. Instead, without addressing the underlying cause of the HIV epidemic in Aftrica, circumcising African men has worsened the epidemic.

Sexhysteria's Blog: Sexual Inhibition and Mental Castration
An interesting article on sexual development. Society, and parents in particular, ignore sexual arousal in children. The first instance is infant circumcision where the parents ignore that circumcision will affect the boy sexually as he grows up without his foreskin. Male circumcision is never for the boy's benefit.
The Jewish Daily Forward: Outlawing Circumcision
Filmmaker Eli Ungar-Sargon notes that the subject of circumcision is often relegated to the realm of jokes and cheeky double-entendres. The San Francisco ballot initiative would ban infant circumcision, and it raises some very serious issues. At the heart of the current controversy are three fundamental questions. First, is circumcising an infant wrong? Second, should infant circumcision be against the law? And third, would banning circumcision infringe on the rights of those who practice it as part of their religions?

Joseph4GI: So Where's the "Sunat Party?"
A group in the Philippines is attempting to set a world record for the number of people attending a mass circumcision. A genital mutilation party! This is so sad. Unfortunately, male circumcision is deeply entrenched in the Philipino culture.
no circumcision: A Field Guide for the Modern Uncircumcised Male
A video about the male foreskin for intact men, that is men who were not circumcised. The video refers to intact as uncircumcised. The video maker describes how he first retracted his foreskin. He had a mild case of phimosis that was resolved by masturbation.
paradigmtheplanet: It’s all about choices
Every person should have the choice of what happens to their body. But with infant circumcision that choice is taken away from the boy. There is absolutely no reason why an infants parts should not stay intact.
