Happy 2nd Birthday, RestoringForeskin.org!
Foreskin restoration site RestoringForeskin.org is two years old today. Restoring Foreskin.org is a site dedicated to men who wish to undo the damage and harm caused by their circumcision.
Two years and two weeks ago, the popular foreskin restoration site RestoreForeskin.org announced that it was shutting down in two weeks. Craig, the site admin, was not responding to anyone's request for information. Nor was he responding to any offers to take over the site.
I saw the need for a replacement site and quickly posted a request for help in building a new site. There was not much time. If a new site was to be built before RestoreForeskin.org shut down, it would require more than one person. QBMan, a Canadian restorer, stepped up and volunteered. Others volunteered to be beta testers. We quickly got to work and in record time built RestoringForeskin.org.
In the two years since the site went live, the site has grown. On the public side of the site, since January 1, 2010, we have logged more than 250,000 visits and more than 500,000 page loads. Even considering that many people visit the site more than once, that is still a lot of people learning about foreskin restoration.
From a handful of members, the member-only side of RestoringForeskin.org has grown to more than 3,300 active members. That is 2,000 more members than we had on our first birthday. These members form a thriving community of men and a few women seeking a foreskin restoration support group.
It is the members that make RestoringForeskin.org such a good site.
