Facebook: Who Are You Calling an Intactivist?
A Facebook Note about a real intactivist. Intactivists are social reformers and, as such, have a long-standing history of ruffling feathers and challenging the mainstream. The author then details the events leading to baby Joshua's death and the firestorm that came after.
Male Circumcision and HIV: AIDSMAP: Contrary evidence for treatment-as-prevention "demands giant pause," contrary evidence for male circumcision not so much
The Journal of AIDS has published a paper casting doubt on the use of treatment as prevention. The paper is asking for a "pause" for reconsideration because treatment-as-prevention theory does not agree with real world results. Unfortuntely, no one is calling for a "pause" or reconsideration regarding the male circumcision campaign in Africa even though the real world results do not support the three highly touted studies.

Navelgazing Midwife: Who Are You Calling an Intactivist?
DrMomma Peaceful Parenting: Who Are You Calling an Intactivist?
A heartfelt post by Jennifer Coias describing what makes a person an intactivist. Intactivists are primarily concerned with promoting bodily integrity - the right to a whole body - as one of the most essential and basic human rights granted to every person regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, class and/or culture (meaning your body belongs to YOU), thereby giving a voice to our most innocent and fragile of citizens: babies and children. This post is the same as the Facebook post noted above.
Facebook: Am I an Intactivist?
A Facebook Note by an intactivist who defines herself. Like her, I speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. All they can do is scream when part of their body is cut away. Their pain is unbearable and it needs to stop.

The Stir - Cafe Mom: What You Need to Know About Your Baby's Penis
One of the best articles I've seen on The Stir: Cafe Mom blog. The article has very good instructions on the care of a baby boy's penis. An intact penis requires no special care. Never retract. Car of a circumcised penis requires coating with petroleum jelly to prevent adhesions. A must read article for new mothers of boys.
My first bub: Emotive Subjects
A blog listing resources for new mothers. She refers to Circumcision Decision Maker as a good resource for mothers wondering about circumcision.
Circumcision Wisdom: Nurses speak out against circumcision
Cat Saunders writes about how male infant circumcision violates the human rights of baby boys. She believes that the continued circumcision of baby boys in the US is a violation of their human rights. "We Americans recoil in horror at reports of female circumcision in other countries, yet we refuse to see that brutal acts of genital mutilation are committed every day on baby boys in the United States."
Bobby Earle: Worst day of our lives…
A father blogs about the pain his son has after his circumcision, The parents circumcised their son shortly after birth. On his third diaper change, the diaper was stuck to his circumcision wound. The blood from the circumcision wound dried and stuck to the diaper. "Out of nowhere, Clive started screaming and convulsing. It wouldn’t stop. It was a deep cry — totally from pain." "As time went on, it only got worse. After an hour, his body was beet red and his hair (and body) was wet from sweating — all from the pain."
After hours and hours of hearing his son scream, the father has an epiphany: "That all the money in the world can’t buy the peace, happiness, and unbelievable contentment that a child so freely brings when he (or she) is safe, healthy, and not in pain." Never once did the father show regret for being the cause of the boy's agony. Never once did the father admit that his son's pain would not have happened but for the circumcision. Never once did the father say he wished he had not circumcised his son. In fact, the father staunchly defends his decision to circumcise and says on Twitter that he would likely do it again. He is not allowing any pro-intact comments on his blog, so I write here to let the world know what true denial looks like. Some people have no empathy and should not be parents. If the man had any compassion, he would have titled the blog, "The worst day of my son's life."
