Measuring foreskin restoration progress

Measuring foreskin restoration progress Restoring foreskin takes time. I have been restoring my foreskin for over a year. The difference between when I started and now is truly amazing. But, the skin grows so slowly, it is not really possible to see any difference day to day or even week by week. Being able to see restoration progress was a great way to motivate me to keep on restoring when I first started.

I've used several methods to measure my progress. Good objective measurement of restoring progress is difficult, at best. The skin grows slowly, so the changes cannot be seen just by looking at your foreskin. Measuring skin length is not easy because the skin stretches when you pull on it and the skin is very flexible.

1. Pictures. I think pictures are the best way to measure and verify progress. The maker of the DTR has some great progress pictures. I take pictures at least every 2 months. I try to take a variety of pictures, flaccid and erect, from different angles. With a 2 month interval, I can easily see my progress by comparing pictures. I took a lot of pictures my first 6 months of restoring because the changes were so remarkable. I take fewer pictures now because I know the process works. Also, tugging has become a habit and I need less outside motivation to keep tugging.

I did not take many pictures before I started restoring. Now, I wish I had more pictures showing my before state. Even though I spent more than 50 years with my penis, I don't remember the details of my penis from before I started restoring.

2. Coverage Index CI. I think the coverage index is best suited for identifying your starting point. After you get enough skin to be a CI-4, it is difficult to look at the Coverage Index pictures and pick one that fits. Depending upon the temperature and phase of the moon, I am either a CI-4, CI-5, CI-6, CI-7, or CI-8. That is, there are many factors that affect coverage, including my flaccid length, if I am semi-erect, and the temperature.

3. Real Coverage Index RCI. Like the Coverage Index, the Real Coverage Index is most useful in the early stages of restoring.  The RCI gives a good indication of your restoration status up to when you get full flaccid coverage.

4. Skin tube length. When I started restoring, I measured the length of my skin tube. With an erection, I marked a dot in the middle of my shaft. I stretched the skin down and measured from my corona to the dot. I then stretched the skin the other way and measured from my abdomen to the dot. Add the two measurements and I have the length of my skin.

Measuring the skin tube length worked great in the beginning. But, as my skin grew and got more flexible and stretchy, it got more difficult to measure by myself. I stopped measuring the full length of my shaft skin after I was tugging for about 5 months. I still measure the length of my inner foreskin between my corona and circumcision scar on the dorsal side. This is getting harder to do because my circ scar is changing and becoming less distinct, making it difficult to have a constant reference point.

5. Forced Erect Coverage FEC. Ron Low (the TLC Tugger guy) advocates this method. The FEC method is probably best suited for those who have been restoring for a while and have enough slack skin that some can be pulled over the corona when erect.  I was maybe CI-2.5 when I started restoring. It was about 3 months of tugging before I could force skin onto my glans when erect. Now that I am getting full flaccid coverage, FEC seems like a good way to measure growth.

Basically, forced erect coverage is measured by pulling the foreskin forward over the glans. Measure between the tip of the extended foreskin and a reference point, such as the tip of the glans. Ron converts that to a percentage, but that step is not necessary. Just keep track of the measurement and compare the readings to see how much skin has grown.

Having some way to see progress helps to keep me motivated. In addition to the physical changes, I also measure how my slack skin feels, such as during masturbation and sex. These are milestones that I reach that give me lots of motivation to continue tugging. Eventually, I hope to have a restored foreskin and these ways to measure my progress will be but a memory.
