Intactivism: Week in Review January 29, 2011
Parents, protect your babies. Support intactivism. The following list includes blogs, articles, and websites of interest to Intactivists that were published in the past week. This is a running tally of the ones I found interesting.
Above the Law did a review of The Good Men Project Magazine article that interviewed Tally last week. Above the Law poked fun at Tally and his efforts to tug his penis to restore his foreskin. I loved it! The article increased traffic to this site and to Restoring Foreskin.org. The more men that learn about foreskin restoration, the more men who may consider leaving their future sons intact.

National Post Full Comment: Jackson Doughart on circumcision: Infants can’t choose
Outlawing routine circumcisions would protect the liberty of children too young to make informed decisions about their own health, children who would otherwise be forced to live with the results of their parents’ choice for the rest of their lives. It is time to rid our society of the shameful practice of routine male genital mutilation and move on to a more enlightened state of affairs, where adults can make such decisions for themselves. Barbara Kay, an old Jewish woman, responds to Jackson's Full Comment with an ignorant diatribe that male infant circumcision is needed for sexual purposes.

Above the Law: Lawyer of the Day: The Foreskin Restorer
They say all publicity is good publicity. It is true. This post pokes fun at Tally. I do not mind because it is generating a lot of traffic to this site and Restoring Foreskin.org.
AOL Health: The John/Joan Case
A description of David Reimer and how a doctor converted him to a female after a botched circumcision resulted in the removal of David's penis. David discovered the sex change as a teenager and demanded to be restored to a male. But the damage to his psyche had been done. He later committed suicide.
ABC News: Activist Seeks Ban on Circumcision, Legalized Teen Sex
News report about an Oakland activist filing suit in California -- to ban infant male circumcision. Rev. Svend la Rose's lawsuit maintains that circumcision is already banned under California's mayhem law and California's constitutional equal protection law (section 7), and that enforcement of that possible ban is what's sought. In a news release about the suit, la Rose likens, legally, the parallel of female circumcision with the importance of a male's prepuce.
Monkey Mama: Circumcision: whose choice should it really be?
A mother feels guilty for having her son circumcised. She wishes that she had taken the time to research infant circumcision. If she had, her son would be intact.

Eco Child's Play: Will San Francisco Ban Circumcision via the Male Genital Mutilation (MGM) Bill?
A bill banning infant circumcision is working its way through San Francisco. Female genital cutting is illegal in the US. It is about time male genital cutting was outlawed, giving equality to all for genital integrity.
National Post Ful Coment: Today’s letters: Do we still need to cut?
Letter responses to two opposing opinion pieces in teh National Post. The letters supporting infant circumcision mostly claim that it is the parents' right to do whatever they wish to their children, even amputate healthy tissue like the foreskin. Those who are against infant circumcision take a more reasoned approach, pointing out the violation of the boy's bodily autonomy and the harm of circumcistion to the infant.

A young man's creative and articulate video describing why male infant circumcision is genital mutilation. RiseOfSuperDogAway96's video provides very good information why baby boys should remain intact and circumcision should be avoided.
